I love the look of these glass domed key chains made with colorful paper. They are so easy to make, but have such a pretty look and are easy to customize. This one I am making for a friend for Christmas and thought it would be neat to personalize with her initial.
To make these key chains, I purchased kits and special glaze from sunandmooncraftkits.com. The kit comes with the metal findings to make the key chain as well as the square glass dome. I also found kits for earrings that are really cute as well.
The first step to making these key chains is to select a pretty paper for the background and then I used a sticker to put the initial on the paper.
Then, I added a generous amount of glaze to the glass dome and placed it on the paper.
This needs to dry overnight.
Once dry, cut around the glass dome.
Add a bit of glue to the metal tray – not too much. Then, place the glass dome in the tray.
Press it down to be sure it stays put while the glue dries. And, that’s it – a great little quick project perfect for little helpers.
