This is a great tutorial on how to hem pants by hand and the same concept applies to anything that you need to shorten – skirts, dresses, pants, shorts, and depending on the design, this could work for sleeves too. I find that being able to do minor mending tasks, such as hemming saves so much time. Once you master the task, a pair of pants can be hemmed in about 10 minutes. I think that is time well spent.
